Dr. Autumn Pulfer grew up in Lake Country and from a young age knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian. After completing her veterinary degree in 2001 she moved to Alberta where she initially worked as a mixed animal veterinarian. She soon realized that dogs and cats were her passion and began to focus her career on small animals. After living in Alberta for 8 years she decided it was time to move home to B.C. Dr. Pulfer was an associate veterinarian then a partner at Tri Lake Animal Hospital in Lake Country. After 6 years at Tri Lake, Dr. Pulfer decided it was time to take a break and spend a year at home and traveling with her 2 young children and husband. Their adventures took them all over Thailand and Indonesia. Once back in Canada Dr. Pulfer worked as a locum veterinarian for several months. She then settled down in Vernon for 3 years at Central Animal Hospital. When the opportunity presented itself to partner with Dr. Jessica Wales she was excited at the opportunity to once again work in her hometown. Dr. Pulfer's areas of interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dermatology, reproduction and acupuncture. Dr. Pulfer is also certified to perform PennHIP radiographs which can help breeders to reduce the incidence of hip dysplasia in their dogs. Dr. Pulfer lives in Oyama with her husband, 2 children, 3 dogs and 1 cat. During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, traveling, gardening, boating and biking in the summer, and skiing in the winter
